Garment Industry Development Corporation: A Case Study of a Sectoral Employment Development Approach
By Maureen Conway with Suzanne Loker
The first SEDLP case study examines the Garment Industry Development Corporation (GIDC), a specialized nonprofit that focuses on issues of job quality and business competitiveness within the garment industry. GIDC offers training programs to address the needs of incumbent and displaced workers as well as marketing and technical assistance services to meet the needs of business owners. This publication is part of the Sectoral Case Study Series, which offers an in-depth look at six sectoral employment programs and how they impact both clients and the industry in which they operate.
